Welcome to ScionHealth | Corporate Executive Interview Video Louisville
When LifePoint Health acquired Kindred Healthcare and launched ScionHealth — a new healthcare company operating across 79 hospital campuses in 25 states — they needed a CEO introduction video that could speak to thousands of employees across dozens of facilities simultaneously.
We produced and edited Rob Jay's introductory message to ScionHealth employees, delivering a piece that needed to feel both authoritative and genuinely personal. In a major organizational transition, the first communication from new leadership sets the tone for everything that follows. Getting it right matters.
Executive interview and internal communications work at this scale requires more than technical competence. It requires understanding the organizational context, preparing the subject thoroughly, and creating an environment where a leader can speak directly and authentically — not as a spokesperson, but as a person. That's what we specialize in.
The final piece gave ScionHealth's new workforce a clear, confident first impression of their new leadership and the company they were joining.

Hi everyone. My name is Rob Jay, and I'm excited to speak with you today as we come together to launch Scion Health. I'm honored to serve as the first CEO of our new company, and I can't wait to get to know more of you soon. As some of you may know, Scion is an ancient word with two meanings: a young shoot of a tree or plant, especially one cut for rooting or grafting, and a descendant of a notable family. We knew we wanted the new company's name to convey its strong heritage and stability and its vital role in the lives of those it serves. The Scion Health name evokes a sense of renewal and growth and also acknowledges our roots in LifePoint and Kindred, reinforces the strong legacy of quality, compassion, and collaboration that we will carry forward, and reflects our company's strength and potential. While we acknowledge our roots and heritage from the organizations from which we came, we truly have a unique opportunity to create something new and different. It's not often you're presented with a chance to create something from scratch, but we do. Let's all think about how we can draw upon our collective experiences, take out a blank sheet of paper, and begin to build the Scion Health story together. Scion Health is made up of 61 long-term acute care hospitals from Kindred and 18 community-based short-term acute care hospitals from LifePoint. In establishing Scion Health, we combined a group of hospitals from across the two companies' portfolios that we believed would benefit from focused attention, resources, and investment. This combination also will provide stability from which we will grow and expand. Although there is no in-market overlap between our long-term and short-term acute care hospitals, there is significant opportunity to share best practices in an intentional and structured way that will benefit the care our patients receive, provide our caregivers a chance to learn and grow, and improve our clinical and operational performance. We have a great opportunity ahead of us to invest in innovations in community care that will change the reasons we serve for the better. We will continually pursue innovative solutions to our challenges in order to provide better outcomes for our team members, providers, and those seeking care in the communities we serve. Additionally, because we are drawing upon an impressive mix of talent, resources, services, and expertise, we already have a strong corporate infrastructure in place on day one, so we can effectively and efficiently continue to support our operations. Collectively, we are a company with nearly 22,000 team members serving communities in 25 states, focused on enhancing quality care at the bedside, creating more opportunities for all of our team members, and improving access to care across the country.
Simply put, Scion Health is a strong company right from the start, and we will only get stronger from here. As we embark on this journey together, I want to acknowledge the dedication and perseverance you have shown as healthcare professionals over the last two years. Faced with unprecedented challenges of a global health crisis, you have displayed a level of resiliency, adaptability, and professionalism that is truly inspiring. I want you to know that your wellbeing, both personally and professionally, is important to me and the entire leadership team of Scion Health. We are committed to doing our part to support you and advocate for you so that you can continue the important work of caring for those who place their trust in us. Being part of a new company shouldn't create any burden to you. Instead, it should create ample opportunity for creative improvement. In the weeks and months ahead, you will have the chance to share your input and help define the company that we all want Scion Health to be. A company where we will all directly serve patients or humbly support those who do. A company where we will speak up, ensuring title or role never gets in the way of curiosity. A company where we will pursue continual improvement at every turn and celebrate our wins, no matter how big or small. And a company where innovation and challenging the status quo eliminates complacency. I want each of you to be empowered to help us seek and create solutions for our patients, our physicians, and our communities. Be on the lookout for more information about how you can make your voice heard and participate in the process of helping us shape our new company starting in early 2022. I'm sure many of you are wondering what will change now that the transaction is complete. Initially, the answer is not much will change in your day-to-day activities. For the most part, the tools, resources, and points of contact you have been using will remain essentially the same. That's especially true for the thousands of you working in our hospitals and caring for our patients. Your focus should be on doing what you do best: providing outstanding care to our patients and vital services to our communities. Over time, there may be some changes to who you contact for support or an update to some of the programs the company offers. If and when that occurs, we are committed to giving you as much notice as possible. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the launch of our new company or how it affects you, please reach out to your manager or send your question to this email address. We will answer the most frequently asked questions in upcoming communications. This is a memorable day for all of us, and I believe it will be the first of many more to come. I'm really looking forward to working with each of you as we begin this journey together. I hope you all have a safe and festive holiday season, and I look forward to connecting with you again in the new year. Thanks for all you do to care for our patients, our communities, and each other, and once again, welcome to Scion Health.
