Every May, Churchill Downs hosts the most exciting two minutes in sports — and for the 2025 Kentucky Derby, John Flower Productions was there to capture all of it.

This highlight reel documents the full spectacle of Derby Week in Louisville, Kentucky. From the pageantry of the post parade and the energy of the infield, to the celebrities and red carpets of Millionaires Row, to the thunder of hooves down the home stretch — we were on the ground with fast-moving crews positioned throughout the historic Churchill Downs facility to make sure nothing was missed.

The Production Challenge
The Kentucky Derby is one of the most logistically demanding events we cover. Unlike a controlled studio shoot or a scripted commercial, Derby Week is pure live action — chaotic, beautiful, and completely unrepeatable. Every shot has to be earned in the moment. Our crew worked across multiple locations simultaneously, coordinating coverage of pre-race festivities, paddock access, the race itself, and post-race celebrations.
The result is a cinematic piece that moves the way the Derby does — fast, electric, and alive with the energy that makes this event unlike anything else on the American sports calendar.
