Walmart Health Launch & Documentary Series | Healthcare Video Production Louisville
When Walmart moved into healthcare, it wasn't a side project — it was one of the most closely watched experiments in the industry. Walmart was piloting a care model that, had the company committed to it nationwide, would have meant carving clinic space out of its stores across the country. They built out a handful of locations to find out whether it could work, and we were brought in to document the whole thing: the launch, the patients, and the providers, filmed on location inside those first live clinics. The films we produced from that work were shown to the Walton family in Bentonville.
The launch film headlines the series. When a brand the size of Walmart opens its doors on a new care model, the launch video has to carry the weight of the moment — a national name, an unfamiliar concept, and a community meeting it for the first time. We delivered clean, high-energy commercial coverage of the clinical spaces, the integrated care model, and the staff welcoming patients through the doors — the polished, on-brand presentation a national launch demands.
The Production Challenge
The story couldn't come from a script or a spokesperson — it had to come from the people living it. That meant filming real patients and real care staff inside working clinics, and earning enough trust that they would speak naturally and honestly on camera instead of reciting talking points. We toured the facilities, worked around live clinic operations, and shot in a documentary style built to keep everything calm, clinical, and human at the same time. That rapport doesn't come from equipment. It comes from years of producing character-driven healthcare content, and it's the difference between a testimonial that feels staged and one that feels true.
The Series
Two documentary films anchor the series alongside the launch.
The Patient Experience film turned the camera on the people Walmart Health was built to serve. Filmed on location at the clinics, it captures real patients telling their own stories — what affordable, accessible care has meant for them and their families. The result is warm and credible, built entirely around their voices.
The Provider Experience film is its companion, told from the other side of the exam room. We sat down with the physicians, nurses, and care staff working inside the clinics to hear how it feels to practice medicine in this environment — what the patient volume lets them do, and the difference they're making. Together, the two films tell the full Walmart Health story from every angle that matters.

Patient Experience
People in small communities like this, you pay your bills first. Then you eat, then you get your meds. And that's just the way it is. I had a women's doctor, and I have a heart doctor, and I had an orthopedic surgeon. I don't go see those anymore because I can't afford it. I've been without my Synthroid medication for six months, because I had to have blood work done and I just really couldn't afford it. I live with my daughter, my son-in-law, four grandchildren, and now my son, in a three-bedroom mobile home.
I have Medicaid. My daughter and my son-in-law don't. Without this place, I was scared.
I'm gonna tell you, I told everybody it's like a miracle. Before coming to Walmart Health, I was going to our emergency room here in Gordon County. This is wonderful. Anybody that does work like mine is able to go to a doctor and feel like they're somebody. I don't have any kind of insurance, so this right here is awesome for me.
If this clinic wasn't here for me, then I wouldn't have sought any kind of medical treatment. It probably would've ended up with me going to the hospital eventually. My husband and myself are on fixed income, so I probably wouldn't have gone anywhere. I just needed a place, and I'm really thankful that Walmart put this here. For so long, so many people were wondering who's gonna make the difference, who's gonna make that impact — was it gonna be the government, was it gonna be this organization or that organization? I think we're gonna set the way and lead it. It's gonna make an impact on how the whole healthcare industry looks at how they treat people. It's a blessing.
So many doors for a lot of patients here in Calhoun. Walmart Health, to me, is a new face to healthcare. It's rewarding being able to see these patients come in and smile and say, "I'm able to get the care that I need, and I so desperately could have used it years ago — and now I'm able to get it." I took my daughter to another dentist, and the treatment plan they worked up was $5,667. We don't have insurance. I came here looking for a treatment plan, and they gave me one I could afford. We're retired teachers, and because of Walmart Health we can afford to come and get our dental work done. My husband brought in a postcard. He said, "You got some kind of postcard from Walmart about cleaning your teeth." So immediately I dialed the number.
Talked to a wonderful person, and I'm like, sign me up. I'll be back twice a year. I'm excited about this little cleaning. I think it's gonna be wonderful. People will start coming and getting the things they need to have done instead of waiting or going to the emergency room. You're not gonna have to do that anymore. You can actually come to Walmart and get something done — and get everything that day. I think it's great. I just think it's fantastic. I feel like I'm gonna be healthier, stronger, and I'm going to be able to do what I have to do. I want to make sure that everybody knows how great you guys are and how great this is for our community. You guys were really needed. I don't know how to tell you guys enough how thankful I am and how happy I am that you guys are here.
Provider Experience
Walmart's founded on saving people money so that they can live better, and healthy living is at the center of helping people live better. So at Walmart Health, our entire model is centered around caring for patients, providing quality care, improving access to care, and really helping them live better. This right here is what was needed. I love it. Everything up under one roof, and when you leave here, you have no stress and no worries about anything else.
Walmart Health is providing affordable, price-transparent, quality healthcare to people in this community who never had options or hope before, and it's actually making a difference. I'm used to treating patients and used to helping people, but here we're doing it in a different kind of scope. Just the other day, Dr. Mehta brought a patient to me who was having issues with diabetes — didn't quite know how to check his blood glucose, didn't know how to really even start to eat healthy. We sat down and devised a healthy eating plan, and I was able to walk the floors of the store with him and find the items he needed to be healthy and to start that new revolution in healthcare for him. We were able to take him from beginning to end and show him truly what living better looks like and being healthy looks like.
It's exciting that we're building something brand new. It's exciting what else we can do to expand to meet the needs of people. It's great hearing stories of what these people were before, and the outcomes they've had since coming here. All of that is really exciting, because you're starting to see things truly breaking ground in the healthcare field and the landscape. Walmart's vision of being able to put more clinics in so many other places, I think, is just one of the greatest things going on in healthcare in America today. First of all, it makes me feel better that I'm actually doing something for the community. They have been asking when we are having another Walmart Health in this county, all over the place. Every day we're hearing new stories: "I heard about Walmart Health. I heard about how good you guys are."
We're with the patient from start to finish, to make sure they have the proper care they need and that they're satisfied and happy when they walk out the door. I encounter many patients on a day-to-day basis who haven't had care in five or ten years, sometimes longer. We provide that continuation of care and that partnership with not only the people here in the health clinic, but the communities that we serve. Everyone loves us. We are one big family here at Walmart Health, and I love it — nothing but open arms. I'll be honest, it's the best job I've ever had. Patients are coming back, and we are actually seeing positive outcomes already within two months of being open. This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many stories every single day, and the impact that we're having on this community, and hopefully on future communities, can really make a difference in healthcare in America.
